I specialize in a number of different therapy styles and we can talk about what works best for you. 

  • CBT / DBT: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy is helpful if you want to work on changing the way you talk to yourself, think about yourself and how you cope with problems 
  • EFT: Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy: 

I specialize in a number of different therapy styles and we can talk about what works best for you. 

  • CBT / DBT: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy is helpful if you want to work on changing the way you talk to yourself, think about yourself and how you cope with problems 
  • EFT: Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy: is particularly helpful for couples caught up in repetitive fights about the same thing or stuck in unhelpful patterns. EFT can be adapted to individuals as well that want help feeling more securely attached in their relationships 
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy: PE is  a very structured type of therapy that can be helpful for adults with a trauma history that feel like they can no longer do all the things they once enjoyed before the trauma. I also practice exposure therapy with individuals with anxiety, phobias and OCD. 
  • Expressive Arts / Drama and Somatic therapy: can be helpful if you are feeling too "in your head" and are struggling to really understand the problem.

For individuals and couples that prefer to meet face-to-face, in person sessions are available on Mondays and Fridays in Central Berkeley. Monday evening appointments are available at this time. The therapy office is conveniently located near downtown Berkeley, BART.

If you prefer the flexibility of  virtual therapy, this option is available as well. Virtual Sessions are available to clients living all over California Monday through Friday.

The length of time it takes to see results from counseling sessions varies depending on the individual and the issues being addressed. Some clients may see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term therapy. During the first few sessions we will have explicit conversations about what length of treatment you can expect and how to know when it is time to "graduate" from therapy. 


Sure!  It is important that the therapy techniques feel like the right fit for your goals. 


1. Emotionally Focused Therapy: Here is a link to Sue Johnson's website. She is the founder of EFT. You can listen to a podcast with great information about EFT and find links to helpful books to read. https://drsuejohnson.com/

3. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: Another evidenced based practice, with a lot of similarities to CBT, this type of Therapy offers a lot of structure and tools to help work though intense emotions, interpersonal challenges and often, suicidal ideation. *Please note, that while I do have extensive training and expertise in DBT, I do not offer phone coaching as a part of treatment.

I am a licensed professional with a Master's Degree in Counseling and my license number is #52335. I am licensed in the state of California.  I have extensive training and experience working with individuals and couples. I worked at the University of California in an intensive day treatment program where I learned CBT/DBT and trauma informed treatment. I also have worked for LYRA Health since 2019 and have extensive training in Prolonged Exposure therapy through that experience.  I trained in EFT through ICEEFT. 


I work with adults of all ages for individuals of all ages and adolescents aged 14-18.
